Managing Director of Pearlfinders & Rainmaker, Anthony Cooper, tells us why he supports Team BRIT and what makes the team so unique and compelling as a sponsorship property.
I was first contacted by Dave Player
in early 2015 and immediately wanted to get involved with Team BRIT. We’ve been
delighted to play our part in helping them to find new sponsorships ever since.
From speaking to thousands of senior sponsorship and marketing budget-holders,
we know that increasingly brands are seeking partners that will help them to
tell a compelling story. What stories could be more inspiring than those of
Team BRIT’s drivers? The team’s ongoing work to normalise disability has the
potential to influence anyone facing a physical or mental challenge – it’s a
daily reminder of the amazing things we are all potentially capable of as human
Having the Team BRIT guys come in to the office is a huge boost for everyone at Pearlfinders. As a partner we’ve been privileged to have the drivers and support staff visit us on several occasions over the past two years. I was especially proud recently to welcome them to our new office on Borough High Street in July to celebrate our move and the team’s latest on-track achievements. The 312 car was parked outside the office all day and there was a constant stream of passers-by stopping to look and take photographs.
Perhaps most exciting is the thought that Pearlfinders is helping Team BRIT to find new partners that will enable them to be the first all disabled team to compete in Le Mans. As our team of researchers interviews sponsorship decision-makers at the top-spending brands in the UK and beyond, we look to find out the direction these brands are headed in – what do they want to achieve and how might sponsorship be able to help them get there? These exclusive insights then help our clients – some of the world’s biggest sports properties and rights-holders – make their new business work more effective than it otherwise would be.
The good news for Dave and his team is that for every brand looking for the global clout of clients of ours such as Chicago Bulls, the All Blacks or Paris Saint Germain, there are others whose sponsorship focus is perfectly aligned with ambitious, proactive and pioneering rights-holders like Team BRIT. I love to hear that we’ve helped them to have productive conversations with brands they wouldn’t otherwise have considered and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future."
