Team BRIT heads to Portimao for its first Aston Martin test event

Team BRIT has spent the weekend in Portugal, testing at the Autodromo Internacionale Algarve as part of an official Aston Martin Racing event.

Earlier this year the team unveiled its new Aston Martin V8 Vantage as it moves to GT racing in 2018.

On Thursday, Warren McKinlay, Jimmy Hill, Jamie Falvey and Ash Hall headed out to the track with Team Manager and Coach Graham Horgan and the technical crew for three days testing the car on the Portugese track.

Being a recognised Aston Martin Racing Customer Team, Team BRIT was invited to take part in the collective test event, hosted by Aston Martin Racing.

Drivers had their first full experience of driving the car, which is equipped with the team’s world-leading hand controls, driving in extremely testing conditions including torrential rain.

Further test days will be underway in the coming weeks before the team’s first GT race is confirmed.

Founder and CEO Dave Player said, “It was a real privilege for our drivers to be able to take part in their first Aston Martin Racing test event.

“Our move to GT racing is a huge achievement and a big challenge for everyone in the team, but one we can’t wait to take on.

“The test in Portimao was a fantastic way for our drivers to begin to get to know our incredible new car, on one of the world’s best circuits.  We look forward to further AMR events this year.”
