Team BRIT’s drivers and cars will bear the iconic Aston Martin marque in 2018 as it has officially become one of the luxury brand’s customer teams.
Having announced its move to GT racing earlier this year and unveiled its stunning Aston Martin V8 Vantage, the team enjoys its new status as a recognised Aston Martin Racing (AMR) Customer Team.
This brings a wealth of benefits and support to the team, with access to specialist parts and technical expertise to ensure the team is at its peak throughout the racing season.
The team’s new status underlines the huge progress made over the last 12 months, moving from a team of four rookies racing in the Fun Cup at the start of 2017, to the beginnings of a Team BRIT academy model in 2018. This year the team will continue to compete in the Fun Cup with its two cars in action – the starting point for any new rookie. In addition, the Aston Martin Vantage is ready to compete in GT racing with a pool of drivers vying to make the first GT line up later this year.
Founder and CEO Dave Player said, “I couldn’t be prouder to see the team bearing the AMR Customer Team branding. We are privileged to be part of the Aston Martin family – an iconic British brand that resonates with everything Team BRIT stands for.
“It has been my dream to take the team to this level of racing, driving a car that is an example of superior British engineering and this is exactly what we have achieved.
“We look forward to representing the AMR team in 2018 and making history as we move towards Le Mans. “
