We finished our 2024 season in style this month with a return to Snetterton for the final rounds of the Britcar Trophy and British Endurance Championship.
With a class win, a race podium and multiple class silverware, it was one to go down in the TB history books.
The weekend was packed with action and excitement, with 8 drivers competing in 4 cars.
On Saturday 14th September, Aaron Morgan and Paul Fullick gave their final push of a brilliant season in our number 68 McLaren 570S GT4.
Also lining up in a Mclaren – for the first time ever, was Noah Cosby, who has shown such exceptional progress over the year, that he was invited to step up to the number 67 GT4 for the closing round.
Noah was joined by guest driver Takuma Aoki from Japan, a former superbike racer who, like Noah, is paraplegic and so used our hand controls to race.
In the morning, Paul and Aaron qualified P2 in class. The race took place after the national racing truck series, which had left some oil spills on the track, something they had to navigate from the start to avoid any offs.
They had a great start, making up a couple of positions, before Paul began defending hard against the Jaguar F-Type who was vying to overtake and move into overall P3.
Aaron took over in the second half, successfully holding off the Jaguar before sadly being pipped to second by the SVG BMW. A great result, with P3 overall and P2 in class.
Noah and Takuma worked fantastically together, despite pairing up for the first time. A P3 in qualifying then saw Takuma start the race, steadily closing the gap on his rivals, getting quicker every lap and climbing as high as 4th overall.
A flawless pit stop and Noah was in the car, getting faster with every lap and clocking the car’s fastest lap of the race. As the chequered flag fell, it was 5th overall and 3rd in class.
On Sunday, Caleb McDuff had his first experience in the BMW M240i, having impressed the team with his stellar driving throughout the season.
He teamed up with Asha Silva and the pair did not disappoint. It was P2 in qualifying, before 2 amazing, action packed races, seeing them secure P2 in race 1 and P1 in race 2.
In the BMW 1 series, rookie Dom Shore was teamed up with long-term racer Bobby Trundley. They qualified in an incredible P1 in class before securing two class wins, as well as the class win for the 1 series in the overall championship.
As the silverware was presented, we were also delighted to see Asha awarded ‘rookie of the year’ by championship organisers.
Team Principal Mike Scudamore said: “Wow, what a way to end our 2024 season. It’s been a busy, challenging season running our cars across the Britcar and BEC weekends, but it’s been such a brilliant way of bringing together our crew and drivers to grow and develop as a team.
“That has been demonstrated so well this weekend, with two of our drivers taking big steps upwards in their racing careers, and both doing fantastically in their first attempt at racing faster cars.
“We’re so delighted to have brought yet more silverware home, and the class win for the 1 series was a special moment. Seeing Asha recognised for her consistent performance, despite her relative inexperience on the track was well deserved and yet another important milestone for our team.
“I’d like to say a huge congratulations to all our drivers, but also to our crew who have once again shown their skill and expertise, proving they are up there as one of the best race crews in the paddock. I’d also like to thank our ever growing army of sponsors and supporters, without whom none of this would be possible.”
