BMW driver Asha Silva has secured a new personal sponsor to support her this year.
Phinsys, a leading provider of finance and accounting software solutions to the insurance industry, has pledged its support of Asha and the team throughout the 2024 season.
40-year old Asha joined the team in 2023, shortly after receiving a formal diagnosis for adult autism and ADHD. Having no race experience behind her, she completed her first ever season of racing as a rookie in the C1 series. This year, she will move up a level, driving the team’s BMW M240i in the Britcar Trophy Championship alongside teammate Noah Cosby.
Richard Tyler, CEO of Phinsys, said, “Asha’s progress from the C1 series to the BMW M240i in just her second season is a testament to her incredible skill and perseverance. We are honoured to sponsor such a passionate and dedicated athlete and support Team BRIT in 2024. Their commitment to inclusivity and empowering individuals to overcome challenges, mirrors our own dedication to excellence and supporting talent.”
Mike Scudamore, Commercial Director of Team BRIT, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Phinsys as a sponsor. Their support for Asha highlights the importance of inclusivity in sports and will enable her to strive for new heights and continue to challenge the norms in racing.”
Asha commented, “I’m incredibly grateful for the support from Phinsys in my second season. I’m not just racing for myself, but for everyone who has faced obstacles and dared to dream big. I hope my story can inspire others, especially women and those with similar challenges, to pursue their passions.”
Phinsys’ branding will be featured across all the Team BRIT cars and drivers, but more prominently on Asha’s BMW M240i, helmet, and race suit, symbolising their support for her aspirations in motorsport.
