Team BRIT driver Dom Shore has secured his first personal sponsor as he begins his first ever year of racing with the team.

Intelligent home solutions provider DPP Smart Homes, which provides a range of smart solutions to customers in London and Kent, have backed Dom for his rookie year with the team.

DPP experts provide bespoke smart installation services such as smart home automation, lighting control and multi-room audio visual products, with a specialism in cinema rooms, media walls and entertainment spaces.

The DPP logo will be seen across the BMW 1 Series Dom will be driving this year, alongside Dom’s crash helmet, cap and drinks bottle.

Dom, who lives in Chatham, was born with spina bifida, a condition that occurs when the spine and spinal cord don’t form properly, and hydrocephalus, the abnormal build-up of fluid on the brain. He is paralysed from the knee down, so uses a wheelchair, and will be using our hand control technology to compete on equal terms.

Having secured his race licence in November 2023, Dom will be competing in the Britcar Trophy driving a BMW 1 series alongside his teammate, Caleb McDuff, the UK’s only Deaf male racing driver.

Director of DPP Dominic Parete said: “It’s a real pleasure to get behind Dom in what is a fantastic and exciting year ahead for him and the team. Hearing Dom’s story was really inspiring, and we knew we wanted to support his efforts.

“Working in smart solutions, we’re focused on innovation and technology, so learning more about the technology Dom and his team mates will be using to race competitively has been fascinating. We’re really looking forward to seeing Dom’s progress throughout the year, and to sharing his story far and wide to show people that anything is possible with belief and support.”

Dom Shore continued: “I’m incredibly grateful to Dom and the DPP team for supporting me this year.  I’m completely new to competitive racing but it’s been my dream to race for as long as I can remember and they’re helping me make this a reality.

“It’s been an exciting journey since joining the team last year. I’ve secured my racing licence, bonded with my team mates and I’ve been preparing for the season ahead.  I cannot wait to get racing this weekend, and I hope, inspire others to try something they didn’t think was possible.”

Dom’s season will begin on Saturday 30th March at Donington Park Circuit.
